The process for applying for a block party permit includes the following-
a. A completed petition circulated by the applicant with 65% in favor, counting one per housing unit.
b. A completed block party data collection form.
c. Alderman and staff will review the request.
d. If approved the request will be submitted to the department of transportation.
e. Our office will contact applicant when the permit is ready to be picked up.

The process for applying for a yard sale permit includes the following-
a. A completed occasional sales permit application.
b. Proof of residence (Drivers License, State ID, utility bill)
c. Submission to the ward office for approval.
Each household is permitted two sales a year. Each sale can be up to three consecutive days. If you apply for a permit for a certain weekend but there will be inclement weather, you can cancel the permit by calling the day before the permit starts.
