Northwest Home Equity Assurance Program

Administrative Assistant: Part-time

Northwest Home Equity Assurance Program is searching for an experienced, reliable and task-oriented Administrative Assistant. The Administrative Assistant will work directly with the Executive Director and will be responsible for performing a number of duties. We are looking for an individual who is efficient and comfortable being a member of a team. The ability to multi-task, while maintaining complex schedules and managing administrative support, is essential in this position. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, professional, and capable of managing their work load and prioritizing task. Assuring a steady completion of workload in a timely manner is key to success in this position. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company.

Responsibilities

  • Generate memos, emails and reports when appropriate
  • Develop and carry out an efficient documentation and filing system
  • Assume responsibility for maintenance of office equipment, including computers, copy machines
  • Maintain office supplies by checking inventory and order items
  • Respond to questions and requests for information
  • Answer incoming calls and assume other duties when needed
  • Act as the point of contact between the executive director and internal/external clients

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an executive administrative assistant, senior executive assistant or in other secretarial position
  • Full comprehension of office management system and procedures
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Exemplary planning and time management skills
  • Up-to-date with advancements in office gadgets and applications
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload
  • High level verbal and written communication skills
  • Discretion and confidentiality
  • High School degree and/or High School Equivalency; Associate degree preferred
  • Bilingual required; Polish or Spanish

Job Description

Responsibilities and Duties

As a part time bus driver, you will perform a set travel plan of 2 trips a day: morning (7am until 8:30 am) and then in the afternoon (2:30 pm until 4pm) from the clients’ home to North Center and back to their homes.

*Occasional additional trips may be needed during the day with generous notification.

Ensure each client is secured during each trip.

Maintain bus cleanliness.

Qualifications and Skills

Education:

-High School Diploma

Must have:

-IL Drivers License

-CDL/School Bus Driver's Permit for the State of IL

(We help with paperwork)

-Pass a State of IL background check

Must be able to obtain:

-State of IL bus driver Physical

-Certified in First Aid and CPR

Experience:

-1 yr experience driving a passenger van preferred but not required.

-Successful experience as a School Bus Driver preferred but not required.

-Effective oral and written communication skills commensurate with the responsibilities of the position are required.

We feel that this has enabled North Center to meet the needs of many clients who would not be able to receive adequate services with other community based programs.

The Part Time Bus Driver position has the primary responsibility for ensuring the safety of North Center Clients with developmental disabilities, during bus transportation to and from North Center.
