    Street Sweeping

The City of Chicago street sweeping program begins April 1st and runs until October 31st. It is important to remember that leaves and yard waste should not be raked or blown into the curb because street sweepers cannot pick up large amounts of those materials.  They not only damage sweepers but cause delays in the sweeping schedule. We ask that residents and businesses help by clearing debris and other garbage from your street before sweeping begins. The updated 2018 street cleaning schedule has been posted on the city website here. The City posts "No Parking" signs at least 24 hours before sweeping any streets. Parking will be banned from 9 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the day a street is swept. Most of our arterial streets are posted for weekly street cleaning with permanent signs. You can also sign up for email and text message alerts by clicking here.
